INITIAL SKETCH
Challenge
Developing a soft-structure bag that can be turned inside out after stitching, while still maintaining a structured shape.
Solution
Adding piping on the sides of the gusset of the bag provides structure without the need for additional reinforcement material, which would limit the bag from turning inside out.
Challenge
Aligning the flap so that it closes neatly, where the strap will firmly hold its closure without misalignment, as it is sewn before the final assembly of the bag.
Solution
Marking precisely the placement of the closure strap and the flap on the pattern after ensuring the calculations and placement are correct on the prototype.
